Launceston Grammar has entered into a contract to purchase over 5000 square metres of land, the majority of which is green space directly behind the Junior Campus.
Headmaster, Richard Ford said the process of acquiring the land began in October 2020 and has involved the due diligence of Launceston Grammar’s Senior Executive and School Board. The School hopes to take ownership of the new land during 2021.
“The acquisition of the land will see Launceston Grammar expand its footprint in East Launceston by more than half of its current land size with the additional land further enhancing the opportunities for our students and staff to engage in active learning and recreation beyond the classroom,” says Richard.
“The land acquisition will future-proof the School and allow it to meet future enrolment and educational needs.”
The additional land at the Junior Campus will be incorporated into the School’s current Master Planning process.
